When UniCare Dental Begins

As long as UniCare age and residency eligibility requirements are met and you submit the appropriate premium deposit, approval of dental coverage is essentially automatic.  A complete dental application form is typically approved within a few business days.

Combined Health and Dental Plans

When you purchase UniCare dental insurance combined with UniCare health insurance, the two plans start at the same time.

UniCare health/dental insurance can begin any day of the month, which you can specify on the application form.

Keep in mind, there's no guarantee as to how long UniCare will take to underwrite your health insurance application (same as other health insurance companies), so there's always a chance your health/dental coverage may not begin as soon as you'd prefer.

Stand-Alone UniCare Dental

If you're buying stand-alone UniCare PPO dental insurance, your coverage effective date will always be the first day of the month following processing of your application.

So, to ensure your UniCare dental coverage begins as soon as possible, send us your UniCare dental plan application at least a week prior to the end of the month -- giving UniCare sufficient processing time.

If you want stand-alone UniCare dental insurance, use the UniCare dental application form.  DON'T use the UniCare health insurance application form, and DON'T use the UniCare online application.
