Humana One Eligibility Requirements
- The minimum age for a child is two months, and the child must have completed his or her two-month well-baby exam and received a well-child diagnosis with no adverse finds.
- The maximum age for dependent children is 24 years if the child is a full-time student. If the child is not a full time student, the maximum age is 18.
Children-Only Coverage
Humana will accept application for "Child-Only" and "Children-Only" coverage, subject to the child age limits mentioned above. Applications must be completed by the custodial parent or legal guardian.
Please note. You can purchase a Humana One Health Savings Account (HSA) HSA-compatible policy for a child, but you can't establish an HSA for a child claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return.
Other Health Insurance Coverage
Humana does not allow dual coverage. Therefore a person who is currently covered by another plan must replace that coverage with Humana. Don't terminate existing coverage until you've been notified that Humana has agreed to insure you.
U.S. Citizenship
If you're not a U.S. citizen, you must have lived in the U.S. for a minimum of two years, hold a permanent visa or green card, AND have consulted a physician in the U.S. within the last two years.
Foreign Travel
People who live in a foreign country are not eligible for Humana One coverage, nor are people who are contemplating imminent or extended foreign travel.
