When Anthem Dental Blue Begins
A complete dental application submitted by an eligible applicant should not take more than a week for Anthem to process. So, your Anthem Dental Blue insurance can usually begin as soon as within a few days of your submitting the application.
Combined Anthem Medical and Dental
When you purchase Anthem Dental Blue combined with Anthem medical coverage, your dental insurance won't begin until the start of your Anthem medical plan.
The medical/dental insurance start date could be on any day of the month -- depending on the effective date you've indicated on the medical application and how long it takes Anthem to process the application.
Underwriting of Anthem medical applications can take several weeks (same as other individual health insurers), though some health insurance applications are quickly approved.
